I’m a Lifelong sailor who was raised in the Islands. I served in the United States Nuclear Navy. In 1989 I obtained my first USCG Masters license. I worked beginning in 1990 as a Merchant Marine chief engineer primarily for the oil and gas industry. Several years ago I retired due to Multiple Sclerosis. Hello, this is John D’Amanda from Rochester, NY. My grandfather, John Van Voorhis, owned the Metina for 20 years on Lake Ontario, Rochester Yacht Club. I think he donated her to Yale University in the early sixties. I would love to know how she is doing.
