President James Madison Jr

Zachary Taylor III was the 12th President of the United States, serving from March 1849 until his death in July 1850. Before his presidency, Taylor was a career officer in the United States Army, rising to the rank of major general. Source Wikipedia

James Madison born on March 16, 1751, in Port Conway, Virginia, wrote the first drafts of the U.S. Constitution, co-wrote the Federalist Papers and sponsored the Bill of Rights. He established the Democrat-Republican Party with President Thomas Jefferson, and became president himself in 1808. Madison initiated the War of 1812, and served two terms in the White House with first lady Dolley Madison. He died on June 28, 1836, at the Montpelier estate in Orange County, Virginia. Yes it can be confusing. As time passes research continues and more information is found.

Daniel Trowbridge Taylor, my 2nd great uncle was the son of my 3rd great grandparent’s  John Taylor Jr. and Ann Stewart Miller. These are my grandmother’s ancestors on my father’s side of the family.

Left- Daniel Trowbridge Taylor born 19 Jul 1830 in Pennsylvania and died 18 May 1916 in San Francisco. Center- Cousin Walter Miller. Right- Daniel Taylor’s Daughter Emily. Additional Information from back of photo is as follows- Daniel left Baltimore 1849 and sailed around Cape horn to San Francisco. He lived through the San Francisco earthquake and fires. 1905. Last of the 49??
