Hello Mike, Thanks for the message. Windigo hit a reef and sunk off the Plana Cays in the southern Bahamas near the Turks and Caicos islands. This happened in late 1978. A couple of interesting coincidences. 1978 was several years after Windigo was sold by my father and his friends. Our family had moved to Providenciales Turks and Caicos in early 1970. Not long after moving to “Provo” Turks and Caicos my fathers 52′ Matthews sunk in the Deep blue ocean next to the Plana Cays. It was bad weather and the boat sank quickly. My father and brother floated around holding onto a small aircraft life raft. Luckily a Bahamian Supply/Mail boat was notified and picked them up. Amazing coincidences indeed.
OMG this is fantastic.
